SUMMARY:Food Donation Drive for Corona Warriors at CPR
DESCRIPTION:Bandh Foundation organized a food donation drive at CPR Hospital\, Kolhapur. Covid-19 second wave had already peaked\, and the number of cases had started to reduce. This drive was held as a mark of respect for Corona Warriors (Doctors\, Nurses\, Cleaning staff and support staff) at CPR hospital\, who showed tremendous resilience in managing healthcare facilities to treat huge inflow of corona patients during second wave. \nBandh Foundation salutes all Corona Warriors around the country for keeping our citizens safe during difficult times of the Covid-19 pandemic.

SUMMARY:Flood Relief Campaign
DESCRIPTION:Bandh Foundation conducted a Flood Relief Campaign to offer support to people from Chikhali Village in Kolhapur district\, who were affected due to flooding of Panchaganga River. These people were almost left homeless because their homes were more than 50% submerged under flood water and they had nowhere to go. Government of Maharashtra mobilized the affected people to other locations to protect them from floods. One such group of people were given temporary accommodation at Kalyani Hall in Budhwar Peth Kolhapur. \nBandh Foundation approached these people to offer help. We prepared and served breakfast for the people who had no means or resource to cook their own food.

SUMMARY:Plant Donation Drive on Agriculture Day
DESCRIPTION:Bandh Foundation organized a plant donation drive on the occasion of Maharashtra Agriculture Day\, to highlight importance of planting trees to protect our environment. We donated over 200 live plants of Tulsi and Curry Leaves. These plants also offer several health benefits apart from the benefits that plants in general offer. SUMMARY:Food Donation Drive at CPR Hospital Kolhapur
DESCRIPTION:Bandh Foundation organized a food donation drive at CPR Hospital\, Kolhapur. This drive was held at a time when Covid-19 second wave was at its peak and there were several restrictions in place on mobility. Add to that the severe burden on hospitals to care of positive patients. While so many patients were admitted to CPR hospital\, we observed that the relatives of patients\, who were at the hospital to support their family members\, faced difficulties due to poor basic facilities at the hospital. They were finding it hard to get even food and water since restaurants in the vicinity we closed due to lockdowns. \nBandh Foundation therefore decided to help fellow citizens by distributing cooked food packets and water bottle. We distributed more than 100 water bottles and food packets which we cooked in the foundation’s own kitchen. Our volunteers helped in packing the food\, loading and unloading cartons at the hospital and in its distribution to the needy.
